Children's Sunday School Classes

During the COVID-19 health crisis, children and youth are invited to join the online Sunday School program and the online Sunday morning worship service.

During online Sunday School on Feb. 28th, we explored Luke 19:1-10 bible.   Zaccheus was an unpopular tax collector who climbed a tree to get a better view of Jesus who was passing through Jericho.  Jesus stopped at the tree and told Zaccheus that he'd like to have dinner at Zaccheus's home.  People didn't like that, since Zaccheus took people's money unfairly.  In the Celebrate Wonder video, we learned that Jesus looked beyond what other people saw, and He knew that Zaccheus would make good changes by letting go of what he didn't need.  Just as Jesus gave Zaccheus a second chance, we should be loving toward others and give them a second chance.  We came up with some fun Tweets about the story: "Jesus gave Zaccheus a second chance," "You should be nice to people," and "God choose Z."

During the online worship service, Pastor Eva demonstrated how we can enjoy ice cream - in a cup, on a cone, with a cookie, or as a sundae.  Just as it's pleasing for us to have dessert, God is pleased when we pray, help others, and learn about God.  For example, prayer can be at any time of the day and anywhere.  We can help our families by cleaning up our mess at home.  We can learn about God by reading the Bible, or by attending Sunday School.  All of these things are pleasing to God!

Upcoming:

March 7 - Online Sunday School will be at 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.  Please contact the church office for the zoom link.

During In-Person Worship Sundays --------------------------------------------------------

Infants, Toddlers and Pre-School:

In this classroom, Sunday Schoolers color lesson pages, hear and read stories about Jesus, enjoy a snack, and have fun playing with toys and playground equipment.

Early Elementary:

The early elementary class for Kindergarten through 2nd grade is family-friendly and fun!  The teachers are kind and caring.  Children learn about The Bible in ways that are understandable for younger ages.

Older Elementary:

3rd through 5th graders learn about how to find things in The Bible and read stories from it. They do crafts (like playing with clay), play games, cook food, and act out stories from The Bible.

Middle School:

6th through 8th graders learn about stories from The Bible and relate lessons to everyday life, learn Manners Moments, and play games like Apples to Apples and Scrabble (Bible versions!).

High School:

9th through 12th grades share highs and lows from the week, explore scripture lessons, and reasons for those concepts. They ask questions and discuss scenarios related to The Bible.
